Specifically, your Miranda rights are as follows:
- You have the right to remain silent.

The police must read a person his or her rights before questioning. Once an accused has been detained, he or she should be informed of Miranda rights, otherwise, any statements made could be thrown out of court. Not all statements can be thrown out. For example, what a person says before he is arrested will be admissible, and likewise, if the person spontaneously blurts something out, all that will be admissible, too.
Remember, a person can demand a lawyer at any time. In other words, a person can agree to answer questions, then later refuse to answer any more.
Additionally, persons who are deaf or hearing impaired should be provided with an interpreter or other accommodation.
