James Douglas Smith
Jim Smith is highly intelligent, thoughtful and persistent, and will do whatever it takes to get your case legally dismissed, reduced, or otherwise properly taken care of. You can rest assured that you are in very good hands with him when it comes to your criminal matter. Jim has worked with the Utah Attorney General's Office (Commercial Enforcement Division).
Jim has solid experience in the area of criminal law. He has even helped parents in DCFS actions, children in juvenile court, and defendants in criminal cases ranging from minor traffic convictions to first-degree felonies.
Jim Smith received his law degree from the University of Utah. He came to Greg Smith and Associates after running a practice in Provo where he built a reputation for excellence in client service, tenacious advocacy, and painstaking research.
He now lives in London, Utah with his wife and three daughters. In his spare time, Jim enjoys learning about local history, adding to his collection of Titanic books and memorabilia, meeting with his Boy Scouts, and teaching an eleven-year-old Sunday school class.
Among his other achievements, Jim has written a published analysis of Iraqi strategy in the 1991 Iraq War, done research with noted Lebanese scholar and human rights advocate Chibli Mallat, and won an award for academic excellence in the field of arbitration.
Jim has lectured high-school classes on legal issues.
